Seriously.
And I’m not just upset because all of Adam & Eve’s apps got banned, I’m more upset because Apple is now setting the standard of what our society should be okay with. You should really read CNN’s article.
During a phone interview Phil Schiller, the guy in charge of talking about this stuff, pointed out some new rules about why an app would get banned. Here we go, let’s read together, shall we?
1. No images of women in bikinis (Ice skating tights are not OK either)
2. No images of men in bikinis! (I didn’t ask about Ice Skating tights for men)
3. No skin (he seriously said this) (I asked if a Burqa was OK, and the Apple guy got angry)
4. No silhouettes that indicate that Wobble can be used for wobbling boobs (yes – I am serious, we have to remove the silhouette in this pic)
5. No sexual connotations or innuendo: boobs, babes, booty, sex – all banned
6. Nothing that can be sexually arousing!! (I doubt many people could get aroused with the pic above but those puritanical guys at Apple must get off on pretty mundane things to find Wobble “overtly sexual!”)
7. No apps will be approved that in any way imply sexual content (not sure how Playboy is still in the store, but …)
I’m against any instance where a theoretical minority can rule the majority. Moms/Dads if you don’t want your kids to see explicit content, block their phones! Take some action in your child’s life, make it harder for your kids to see explicit (or violent) content. In the words of George Carlin, “I’d much rather have my kids watch a movie of two people [having sex] than two people killing each other.”
Why is it that this killer app, and that “let’s play with knives” app…oh and this app where the goal is to push things down stairs, all appear in their top 10 best selling apps but jiggly boobs and girls in tights are a no-no?
What are your thoughts? Do you think it’s okay for Apple to continue to allow violent apps to children, but force a ban on all “overtly sexual” content to everybody? Leave it in the comments.

Excellent points guys, we’ve been covering this since it hit Mashable and TechCrunch last week.
Love that George Carlin quote, that’s really what it comes down to…
Most of the B.S. censorship starts with the bogus “think of the children” cry, which is completely nonsensical when in the next sentence we’re showing incredible violence to these children.
Time to think for ourselves folks, each one of us knows in our hearts what’s right for our kid. Got a child? parent it. it’s your job.
Have an awesome day!
